Controlling turkestan Roaches
Turkestan Roach
The Turkestan cockroach is also known as the rusty red cockroach or the red runner cockroach. It is a close cousin of the Oriental cockroach, and is primarily an outdoor insect, unlike some cockroach species such as the German cockroaches.
They typically inhabit in-ground containers such as water meter, irrigation, and electrical boxes, raises of concrete, cracks and crevices, and hollow block walls.
When treating for roaches, make your applications according to label directions, and as close to where cockroaches are hiding as is possible. Even the best insecticides will not be effective if roaches are not exposed to them or do not discover bait placements.
There are many choices and formulations available for roach control. There are Aerosols & Ready To Use Products, Spray Concentrates, Dust Insecticides, Baits, Insecticide Granules, Insect Growth Regulators, or Insect Traps.

Treating For Roaches
Like all cockroaches, it is omnivorous and will eat virtually anything people will and many things we won’t. This cockroach thrives in warm, damp environments, such as sewers, steam tunnels, basements, crawl spaces, and boiler rooms. In the warmer months, it will also be found living and breeding outdoors.
Bait Insecticides
When baiting for roaches, make sure to thoroughly apply it to all cracks and crevices near the main site of activity. Remember, they will have to find and consume the product for it to work. Most of the best baits and gels on the market today, such as Niban or Maxforce Complete, are formulated with a bait matrix that will be attractive to insects. Niban Bait is one of the more popular products for treating Silverfish and Roaches.
For a traditional approach, treat the outside with a residual liquid such as Demand, Tempo or Suspend. Treat all the potential entry points into the house such as windows, doors, vents, plumbing, etc. Spraying the roach harborage areas such as water meters, under mulch, black plastic, holes or cracks in cinder block walls, retainer walls or hollow trees will also help. For added control, apply an insecticide granule such as Talstar.
For additional control, or a non-poisonous approach to capturing Turkestan Roaches, use Trapper Max Glueboards. Sticky traps work great when strategically placed throughout the home or garage. Treat the inside with Delta Dust, or Drione. These products can be applied to cracks, crevices, or voids where these insects hide. Be sure to pay attention to bath traps, plumbing areas, crawl spaces, wall voids, and under cabinets. Pay special attention to any areas of your home where there is water. This includes the refrigerator, air conditioner, dishwasher, laundry room and all of the plumbing.
Tips for Control – Eliminate excessive harborage and ground cover throughout the entire property.
